A list of offpage activities that we aim to do in order to gain better rankings in Google Search Results.
Link Building
Links pointing to the website is still an important activity we need to create. There are two types we can look into:
- Natural links: links created by customers through reviews, social media posts, etc. regarding services rendered. We have little control over this aside from asking current customers to leave us reviews on social media sites or directories.
- Manual links: links that we build ourselves by creating profiles in directories and social media accounts.
First Step – Research
First we will need to gather all directories and websites where we can build our links. Good examples here are Yelp, Yellowpages, and other business directories that are popular in (company’s target area).
Second Step – Account Creation
Once we have a list of directories, we will proceed to create accounts on these websites. It is important to remember to keep consistency so the following fields should be followed:
Company Name: Company name
Address:
Website:
Phone Number:
Email:
Industries:
Third Step – Improving Natural Links
Once the directories are done, we can send out an email to current and previous clients to leave us testimonials. This can be in social media profiles or in large directories.
Social Media
Social media profiles provide us a way to get good links going to the website. On top of that, we can create posts to increase links shared through social.
Social Media Profiles
Currently we have Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. They all have links going to the website already. Aside from these, it might be worth it to add:
- Twitter – since it is easy to update Twitter using the same basic posts for Facebook
- Instagram – since we will use infographics, Instagram might be a good place to put them.
Social Media Calendar
First using the info we already have from case studies, we can create bite-sized pieces of information which can be shared through social media. We’ll create an online calendar to see what post will go where and when should they be posted.
Graphics will mainly come from the current infographic as well as other images we have.
Influencer Marketing
Another way to market products and services through social media is influencer marketing. This is when a popular account endorses a product or company which can gain a lot of traffic and links to a website.
While there may not be a lot of traditional influencers in the (company’s) industry, what we can do is find the one with the most followers especially on LinkedIn and try to create a good reputation with them.
Another possible approach is to offer free services to a well-known company with a good following on social media in exchange for an endorsement.
Guest Posting
Still considered one of the best ways to build offpage SEO links, guest posting is a win-win for two or more websites. Basically what this entails is reaching out to a website that is relevant to (the company), but not a competitor. We would then propose to create a piece of content for their blog in exchange for keeping a link going to our website in that post.
First Step – Research
The first thing we need to do is find websites that fit our needs. They should:
- Be about cleaning or green cleaning products
- Not a competitor
- Have a blog
This may take some time but it is worth the effort
Second Step – Reaching Out
We would then send emails or call the owners of these websites to propose creating content for them in exchange for having a link in that content going back to our website.
Third Step – Content Creation
We can have a basic article ready. The topic could be general things about (industry) so that they can be easily proposed to potential guest posting websites.
We can also tailor make content for the websites we approach. This would depend on their theme, topics, and how we can relate (the company) with what they do.
We would then submit this article for them to post.
